SAFETY
Date with confidence.
VYBE provides privacy, block and report controls, but safer dating also depends on the choices members make before, during and after meeting someone.
Keep your exact location private
Use a city, town or approximate area in your profile. Do not publish your home address, exact coordinates, workplace location or other information that makes it easy for a stranger to locate you precisely.
Take time before moving off-platform
Be cautious if someone immediately pressures you to move to another messaging service, share private contact details, send money or reveal financial information. Scammers often try to create urgency.
Never send money because of a dating request
Do not transfer money, buy gift cards, share banking credentials or make payments on another member’s behalf because of a romantic or dating conversation. Report suspicious requests.
Use block and report
If a member harasses you, appears to be impersonating someone, sends scams, raises an underage concern, shares inappropriate content or creates a safety concern, use VYBE’s report control. Block a member when you want contact to stop.
Protect account access
Use a unique password and do not share it. VYBE staff or other members should not need your password. Be cautious with links or requests that claim you must reveal login or banking credentials.
For a first in-person meeting
- Meet in a public place where other people are present.
- Tell someone you trust where you are going and when you expect to return.
- Arrange your own transport so you can leave independently.
- Keep your phone charged and accessible.
- Do not feel pressured to drink, use substances or go somewhere private.
- Leave if the situation feels unsafe or different from what you agreed.
Consent must be ongoing
Consent should be voluntary, specific and can be withdrawn. A match, previous conversation, date or prior intimacy does not create automatic consent to anything else.
18+ only
VYBE is for adults aged 18 and over. If you believe someone may be under 18, stop interaction and report the account. Credit-card verification used for protected features is not proof of age or identity.
Fictional homepage previews
Profile portraits shown on the public homepage are fictional interface previews and are labelled as such. The signed-in member area is intended for profiles created by members.
Emergency situations
If you believe there is an immediate threat to life or physical safety, use the appropriate emergency services for your location rather than relying only on an in-app report.
